"We never really solve a problem, we simply go to the top of a mountain and learn to see the situation differently"

Person Centred Counselling

I am trained in Person-Centred Therapy (PCT). This is based on the theory and philosophy of Dr Carl Rogers which he developed during the 1950s. It is used widely in therapy and in the treatment of mental health across the globe and is sometimes described as a 'humanistic' approach to counselling.

PCT is a non-directive approach to counselling which is built on the principle that the individual has the potential and ability to make the right choices for him or her self, regardless of the therapist's own values, beliefs and ideas.

Therefore, as a person-centred counsellor, I believe in every individual's uniqueness, and respect their capacity to choose their own direction in life. My role as a counsellor is to help you find that direction by offering you the opportunity to be heard and understood in a non-judgmental way. You will have a safe place where you can start to explore more effective ways of dealing with the feelings that are troubling you. My role is to help facilitate you through that process.
